Let me guess... New Year, New You?

Published 4 months ago • 1 min read

Reader,

No shame, I've done it too.

I’ve been noticing a couple of trends in the "New Year, New Me" Theme.

People doing:

📱 A social media cleanse

🍷An alcohol free January

Whether you’re trying one of these or something different, it’s no secret, making changes to your behavior is HARD.

As with everything I do, I always look for the root cause– WHY do people have such a hard time sustaining habit changes? Making changes to behavior is actually pretty simple.

It boils down to:

⭐️Self Boundaries

⭐️Discipline

⭐️Motivation

The third (motivation) really drives the other two.

The problem? Most people motivate themselves to make a change in habits by guilting or shaming themselves. Which does not = success. Because your brain begins to associate that change with feeling poorly. Are you motivated to do ANYTHING that makes you feel bad?

Staying motivated toward a goal is SO MUCH easier when you’re positively motivating yourself.

So how do you hack your motivation? Answer these 4 questions:

☀️ Why do you want a better relationship with ___________?

☀️ How will it change your life for the better?

☀️ What will you have more of?

☀️ How will that feel?

Write them down, hang them where you see them everyday.

Was this helpful? Let me know if this is something you’re trying!

Yours in service,

Julie Jones

Hi Reader, There is an experience that I've heard from countless women over the years. Many of them have achieved conventional “success” by society's standards, yet a voice within them whispers, "Is this it?" Have you had this experience? Where it feels like an inner voice is saying “there’s got to be more to life than this”. What if you were to acknowledge that there was more to you? And what is holding you back from claiming that life? Money? Time? Energy? Relationships? Not knowing where...
